Found a village in the age of Rome — and grow it through the ages.
Roma Nova has been updated with rivers, farms, water, happiness and discoveries, so older villages can't be continued. Please start a new one!
You start with 10 workers on open land with forests, a river, a stone quarry and a metal mine.
Use + / − to make workers woodcutters, miners or farmers. Workers without a job build whatever you place.
Pick which trees to cut with the Axe tool. After 3 loads of wood a tree falls over and is gone.
People need food (build fields for your farmers) and water (build a pump beside the river and connect it by road).
Wading across the river is slow. Lay a road over it to build a bridge — workers find the quickest way and will use bridges and roads.
Build houses (1 person each) and lay tiled roads to the Forum. Invite settlers — they pay coins when they arrive and taxes after that.
Parks, fountains, baths, temples and theatres make people happy, and happy people pay more tax.
Need more hands? Hire workers for coins.
Each school makes 1 discovery point a minute. With 10 you can advance to the Medieval era — and your buildings change style! In the Medieval era, research Castles so your schools keep making discovery points; 10 more take you to the Renaissance. Then research the Steam Engine for 10 more to reach Victorian times, and Electricity for 10 more to reach modern times — the 2020s!
In the Medieval era you unlock inventions like the windmill and the wheelbarrow. Inventing costs coins, makes your village better and earns you Experience Points to level up.
The land is big! Zoom with the mouse wheel, the + / − buttons or a two-finger pinch, and drag the map (or use the arrow keys / WASD) to look around.
Press the Build button to see everything you can build. Keys: 1–0 build, F fountain, B baths, T axe, X demolish, Esc cancel, Space pause. Your game saves automatically.

Pick something, then click the map to place it. A red cost means you need more of that resource.
